Are you like me and still aren’t sure what you want to be when you grow up?
Along with our daughter, we have several friends whose kids are at the age when they are contemplating what to study in college…what to do with their lives. What an overwhelming decision to have to make as a young adult.
Or perhaps you’ve been in crypto for a while and really want to make a full-time gig of it somehow. As we know, there are educational events and education available to help beginners and those who are looking to improve their skills.
Interestingly enough, several recent articles have blockchain on their list of top hard skills and top in-demand skills for 2021.
In a recent HR Digest article, one of top hard skills identified was Finance with a special emphasis on blockchain and cryptocurrency. It also included deep learning, cloud computing, AI, video production and other hard skills. “Companies of all types and sizes are increasingly leveraging blockchain – the technology that underlies cryptocurrencies like bitcoin – to reduce costs, cash flow discrepancies and transaction processing times.”7
Ivan on Tech’s online program for those interested in blockchain and/or crypto careers can help you “quickly learn the skills necessary to land a well-paying job in the fast-growing blockchain industry.” He says, “If you educate yourself in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies today, you will gain specialized knowledge that very few currently know about or understand.”
Don’t forget to hone your soft skills, too. Some of the most in-demand soft skills in 2021 are:
- Flexibility
- Emotional intelligence
- Collaboration skills
- Creativity
- Ability to persuade
Check out 5 hot careers in cryptocurrency, which often involve having certain technical skills, but also creative problem-solving skills, communications skills and sometimes even an ‘entrepreneurial spirit.’
- Blockchain/Crypto Content Writer
- Must be interested and/or knowledgeable about the industry and technology – and of course – be a good writer!
- Business Development
- Must be knowledgeable about building partnerships. These often require a business or finance degree.
- Software Developer/Machine Learning Scientist
- Must understand technology and algorithms and have experience with natural language processing (NLP). These often require a master’s degree.
- Security Engineer
- Security is extremely important in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries so knowledge about cybersecurity and other security-related practices are in high-demand. These usually require a degree in computer science.
- Financial Analyst
- Must be able to evaluate risk and possess deep knowledge of financial strategies, regulations, etc. These often require a degree in business or finance and sometimes being a CPA.
Now, many of these top careers require a degree, but not all of them do, and in many cases, given the limited talent pool currently available, companies may overlook a degree requirement in lieu of having experience and deep knowledge of blockchain, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
These careers usually also offer very lucrative and competitive salaries—in fact, salaries in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries are usually much larger than in other industries.
And don’t fret if you’re not a techy or finance guru, there are plenty of career opportunities available in these industries for those who specialize in law, education, sales, marketing, HR, customer service, and more.
Research education options available like Ivan on Tech, attend events that will help you learn more about being an entrepreneur in in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries like the quarterly Bitcoin Branches events (tickets are still available for the October event), network with people in the industry – online or at events – and put yourself out there.
Educate yourself. Obtain specialized knowledge and education that puts you ahead of others. You have everything to gain – and nothing to lose.
Life is too short to not do something you love.
Inspirational Quotes about Education “Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. “ “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” – Benjamin Franklin “If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.” – Zig Ziglar |
