Let me know if you’ve heard this one: “Bitcoin is a fad.”

I’m imagining you all nodding your heads right now and/or laughing because if you talk about Bitcoin with other people – not just other people who are “into Bitcoin” – then you have definitely heard it a time or two.

If you’re looking for a comeback, I may have one for you.

You mean like pockets, video games, “Friends” (they each make $20+ million per year in royalties) and my personal favorite, the Internet.

Some of you were around when the Internet was just getting started. And maybe you thought, this Internet thing is just a fad. But then, you, me, and then essentially everyone jumped on board. Fad…hardly!

Bitcoin Ben has talked about this on his shows over the years – and we have talked about it – how this period of time is much like the early years of the Internet. Yes, some people got on board early and embraced it, but many more did not. I even remember college professors giving bonus points for using Internet sources on research papers (easy extra points I remember thinking).

Yes, some people may think Bitcoin (the fad) is ridiculous and people’s obsession of it is just as ridiculous.8 But if you’ve been in cryptocurrencies for a while – and especially if you’re a HODLER – then you, my friend, are laughing all the way to the bank (so to speak LOL).

We have a good friend who initially discouraged us from getting involved in cryptos because it’s too risky (and still is–and like other investments, don’t put in more than you’re willing to lose). But we later found out that he did end up buying some Bitcoin and then sold it for a very nice profit. (I’m sure he’s kicking himself now.)

Needless to say, he doesn’t know that we know about his secret Bitcoin purchase, but he doesn’t talk badly about Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency anymore either.

Things that make you go hmmm…

So…is Bitcoin a fad? Honestly, time will tell. But we are seeing unprecedented growth, more and more use cases and more and more organizations jumping on board the Bitcoin bandwagon.

This has been and will continue to be a wild ride for a while, but we are enjoying the ride, and I know Ben is enjoying being a part of this exciting time in history. And our journey in cryptocurrency, just like yours, is just beginning.
